ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE 

We are recruiting for a talented Data Analyst to join our dynamic Data Analytics team based in our Oxford office.
You will join a growing team in a production environment.
You’ll work within Global Media Analytics, Data Science, Research , Product Leadership and Operations teams on scripting check error logs and fixes, ad hoc requests and take ownership of processes in data reporting and data processing and providing client monthly reports both internally and externally on an international scale.
You’ll liaise with the Client Service team in helping to conceptualise what the client wants using SQL and Python,Online Cloud systems and note books 

You’ll work with the local team  to help deliver annual data extracts  and reporting specific market. and data extracts to our clients.
This role offers autonomy in the execution of workload and the management of individual priorities and deadlines and is primarily a role supporting the work of Senior Analysts but with scope to progress quickly and make a real impact to the success of the team and wider business.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Responsibility for the creation and delivery of custom projects and developments, across the international Media Analytics business, to help our clients plan, activate and measure their advertising and media spend more efficiently.
The role employs a variety of tools and techniques to extract, combine and process large datasets and apply analytical and statistical methodologies.The work is very varied and fast-moving and requires a high level of flexibility and creativity with scope to make an immediate contribution to the success of the team.
Using Python, Pyspark, SQL, Excel and internal Nielsen tools to interrogate media databases and create custom analytical reports for clients.
Translating broad client requests into focussed technical report specifications
Producing reports to agreed quality and delivery standards – with an eye to using technology to automate and streamline workflows.
Working with senior analysts and research colleagues in the delivery of Media Analytics projects and development initiatives.
Become the expert for a specific product area (e.g. Digital Audience Ratings, Mobile Analytics, TV Analytics, Statistical Modelling, Sales Effect etc.) and champion this across the international business.
Make an immediate contribution to the delivery of Media Analytics revenue targets.

WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?

Pre-requisite skills

 

 

  • Highly numerate and computer literate
  • Bachelors’ degree, or higher, in a numerate discipline 
  • High level of flexibility and evidence of creativity in working with large and complex data sets 
  • Strong communicator and team player able to work closely with colleagues and external clients in defining and delivering solutions 
  • Be able to self-manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and the ability to work independently and set appropriate priorities. 
  • Ability to translate client business issues into technical analysis specifications and deliver to tight deadlines 
  • Python, SQL or similar programming expertise with knowledge of Amazon AWS Cloud computing an advantage

Desirable skills..nice to have but not essential..

Good knowledge and experience of using panel-based data and analysis techniques and an understanding of the limitations and usability of multiple data sources
Knowledge and experience of using multivariate statistical techniques 
MS Office experience particularly Excel 
Experience of a number of Nielsen databases with detailed experience of how to retrieve and produce data from them 
Good commercial understanding of company mission and strategy and how this relates to the team and individual roles 
Problem solving and solutions orientated 
Knowledge of other European languages an advantage
