Data Analyst

 

Nielsen is currently delivering an ambitious, increasingly complex syndicated digital audience measurement service across a number of markets.  We are seeking an analyst to join our European digital panel team focusing on quality management. Countries in the short-term focus are Germany, UK and Italy but the role is not limited to these markets.

As a Data Quality Specialist you will support the local Managers contributing to the efficiency of the internal tools and processes implementing creative custom solutions using mainly Python and SQL. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Analysing monthly deliverables  to interpret the data and communicate findings 

  • Developing procedures to ensure data integrity and quality

  • Working with local and global teams to optimize/improve Operations

  • Perform updates and extraction in the team database

  • Responsible for conducting data investigations to explain and highlight changes in trends

  • Driving resolution for incidents

  • Keeping up to date with developments and trends in database management

  • Identify and escalate any risks to leadership regarding data inconsistencies

 

Sitting within Nielsen’s Operations Group you will monitor data inputs and their processed outputs to ensure that any errors or points of concern are caught and controlled in a timely fashion. You will also be available to provide assurance or rectification in response to ad hoc queries and work with our technical teams to ensure high-quality output. 

 

The Following Skills Are ‘must Haves’ For The Role

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Previous experience working in a data analyst position or similar

  • Experience using data to create reports and insights highly preferable

  • Comfortable in mining large and complex data sets

  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Spreadsheet

  • Ability to speak English fluently (you’ll work in an international team)

  • Self-starter

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

 

Having these will make you stand out from the crowd:

  • Programming language experience is a plus

  • Knowledge/experience of Cloud DB (Big Query, AWS)

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders  within Engineering, Tech Delivery and DSci
