Job Description


This role is the owner of day-to-day project execution and internal coordination between key stakeholders for data processing. He or she shall ensure timely submission of accurate datafiles and reports on projects, and has responsibility for managing the Data Processing costs and productivity for the Operations & Delivery office in Singapore.


As a Data Processing Senior Executive you will be responsible for the following:

  • Write scripts on VBA (macro) and any tables-running software; use other market research applications such as SPSS, Quantum, Survey Craft etc
  • Act as Subject Matter Experts on project teams
  • Follow and assure 100% compliance to all SOPs standards on projects
  • Coach and mentor team members

1)     Data Processing & Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Perform work in the following technical aspects:
    • writing script in MRDCL and using EasiSuite; able to use other market research applications such as SPSS, Quantum, Survey Craft etc.
    • writing VBA script.
    • converting data to any kind of data format including SPSS, Excel, Access etc. according to the request of MSci, CS etc.
    • run simple statistical analysis with/without a little supervision from MSci associates
  • Achieve delivery schedules with ongoing emphasis to improve efficiency, accuracy, timeliness and cost effectiveness
  • Discuss special requirements and provide technical advice to Client Service counterparts or clients related to the specialised area
  • Support Online conversion of projects
  • Ensure regular updates between different operation teams to ensure process and procedures are aligned and that there is 100% compliance to the process
  • Assure that project is managed within the approved budget (OOP) with always adding even more efficiencies to produce more savings on each project level to achieve productivity targets
  • Ensure data and systems back-up are created and maintained

2)     Vendor Management:

  • Primary point of contact and relationship manager between the Commercial, Operation teams and our Data Processing Vendors
  • Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are tracked periodically and reported for DP
  • Carry out Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to address root causes
  • Manage relationships with DP vendors
  •  Track vendor pricing and service levels
  • Ensure right data processing cost on projects
  • Review DP invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment

3)     Systems and Organisation Management:

  • Support implementation, keep up-to-date documentation and ensure global standards and best practices are followed
  • Work closely with the Regional team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation
  • Share and develop ideas for improving efficiencies

4)     People Management:

  • Communicate and assess performance objectives, competency lists and development plans for direct reports; hire, manage and train part-timers (data entry, coders etc) to work on projects
  • Establish high standards of performance and hold team members firmly accountable for meeting those standards
  • Provide support, recognition and feedback to assist team members to achieve their performance standards
  • Act as coach, guide and mentor to team members
  • Ensure that team members are aware of the nature of their specific roles in relationship to the local market, the sub-region and overall regional operations
  • Establish a strong team environment focused on exceeding internal and external client requirement
  • Contribute to driving world class employee satisfaction through the implementation of relevant organisational initiatives that build on employee engagement


  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Statistics or related discipline
  • Market research experience strongly preferred
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good knowledge of at least one tabulation software – MRDCL, SPSS, Quantum, Survey Craft, VBA etc or programming language
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with co-workers
  • Works well under pressure
  • Well organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Good command and communications in English
