Operations Research Scientist

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Responsible for applying core operations research methodologies to identify, scope and execute on opportunities to optimize and simplify operational processes in Nielsen’s media offerings: Build business intelligence forecasts for field and call center staff performance, including maximizing effectiveness around when to reach out to panelists.  Enhance existing call center staffing models. Optimize field and call center operations. Identify unsolved operational problems and create intelligent solutions by discussing requirements with internal teams, researching new methodologies, and creating POCs that can be transitioned to production. Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to perform root cause analysis. Contribute to internal team development via training and educational exercises. Provide daily updates on project progress, successes and setbacks. Communicate and collaborate with team members and project stakeholders. Opportunity to telecommute from Dallas area 2-3 days per week. Domestic travel 1-2/year for 2-5/days per trip. Tools used: Python, R, SQL Tableau, and Alteryx.

 

FOR THIS ROLE, WE ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE:

Minimum Requirements: 
Master’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) plus 3 years of experience in operations research (alternatively, will accept Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in operations research). This must include 3 years of experience in/with: building machine learning or deep learning models that apply to operational problems; major programming language used for Artificial Intelligence, such as Python or R; SQL, data cleansing, preparation and reporting. Must also include 2 years of experience in/with: business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Alteryx. Opportunity to telecommute from Dallas area 2-3 days per week. Domestic travel 1-2/year for 2-5/days per trip.
