Nielsen’s Audio Product Management team is looking for a skilled professional to join as a Product Manager, New Initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Audio audience measurement product family as we extend our services for media companies, advertisers, and agencies.

As the Product Manager, you have experience in an Agile environment, leveraging data to drive technology solutions and are hungry to learn. You are a leader who is collaborative, positive, and driven. You are confident in your roadmapping abilities, and are able to pivot to changes as needed with your team. You have product and program management experience, and are not only passionate about the products you are leading, but also about helping the team you are working with be as successful as possible. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support the Audio Product Line Managers to execute strategy against the goals of expanding our Audio services, either in the measurement solution space or data integration space 
  • Collaborate cross functionally with engineers, data scientists, vendors, product marketing, and business development to plan, develop, and deliver products. Live and breathe agile product development practices across our product, technology, and data science teams
  • Develop detailed program plans through collaboration with stakeholders, manage milestones and communicate initiative status
  • Be the subject matter expert on the product and/or New Initiative
  • Develop business cases or Epic Briefs for new features
  • Approach Product Development with a growth mindset: prioritizing high potential opportunities, discovery and innovation
  • Function as Product Manager; partnering with the Technology teams to develop user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements, and roadmaps
  • Regularly review the competitive landscape and analyze client feedback to improve product features and capabilities 
  • Potentially demo to prospective clients and answer queries from current clients
  • Function as Program Manager for new initiatives as designated and directed by the Audio Product Line Managers

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of Product Management experience, with at least 2 years of Program Management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience with B2B product management, preferably in data-oriented businesses
  • Experience managing midsize to large projects with multiple stakeholders, identifying key milestones, risks and assumptions, and measuring success
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to suggest workable solutions to development teams and decompose complex problems into manageable units
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization 

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Understanding of marketing / media analytics, including domain expertise in any of the following areas would be a plus, but are not required for the successful candidate
  • Media and/or Audio industry segments including Broadcast Radio, Digital Audio Streaming, and Podcasting, with a focus on content as well as distribution technologies, apps, and devices
  • Understanding of digital data collection, processing and reporting 
  • Technical knowledge of cross-platform media / behavior measurement technologies and data, including any of the following: 
  • Media panels and consumer research data matching methods 
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling / machine learning techniques 
  • Experience with customer facing reporting tools
  • Program-level financial management experience
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Atlassian or other Agile Performance Tools
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
