In this role, you will be responsible for:


Responsible for cross-collaboration with Gracenote music and video  metadata content and technology customers, recommendation engine providers, and internal Engineering, Sales, Editorial and Professional Services departments, as well as other product managers, to develop and launch new or enhanced metadata products and services, and deliver related data and data infrastructure products: Work with different data points and algorithms to understand product performance and identify product improvement opportunities. Analyze business problems and user requirements to implement software systems. Develop and define metrics to assess the success of products and features and determine necessary enhancements. Build product reports to easily track metadata coverage and facilitate prioritization and resource planning. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for product quality, usage and performance by taking various internal and external data points into consideration. Analyze coverage, quality, and integrity of entertainment metadata and identify optimization and performance improvement opportunities. Participate in user research to define product interface features and validate new product ideas. Partner with product marketing to translate product features into customer value propositions, and create training and go-to-market material, best practices and product usage documentation for internal and external customers. Collect and organize product usage, content coverage and industry-related information, serve as a subject matter expert on data/content flows, using necessary analysis and data to drive decisions, and act as a liaison between Customer Success, Content and Engineering teams on product requirements, features and enhancements, customer support issues, as well as internally agreed-upon technical and architecture initiatives. Evaluate and maintain the integrity of Gracenote’s vast content systems, including debugging issues related to data quality and integrity, and simulating customer issues in the data pipeline through exploratory data analysis. Establish processes to gather internal and external customer requests, feedback and maintain internal roadmaps, craft abstract requests into actionable requirements for engineering, define key success product metrics, and build reports/dashboards to monitor progress. Define wireframes for user interface-based reporting products through mock-ups, and validate through stakeholder feedback. Involves the opportunity to telecommute from within the Emeryville, CA area for up to 5 days per week, as feasible. Involves domestic travel, 3-4x/year, for 1-2 days/trip. Tools and technologies used: MS Office, Dashboard software (Tableau, Spotfire and Quicksight), REST APIs, SQL, AWS Athena, XML and JSON.





Minimum Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, operations research, statistics, business administration, engineering or a related field with a quantitative emphasis (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) plus 2 years of experience in consumer and/or technical product management and analysis of B2C (business-to-consumer) and/or B2B (business-to-business) data. This must include 2 years of experience in/with: analyzing data from multiple external and internal data sources, building operations planning models and using data for product concept development; initiating and conducting new product development and key performance indicators (KPI) definition such as data coverage, quality and service performance metrics; data visualization and/or dash-boarding tools such as Tableau; initiating and conducting qualitative and quantitative consumer research to support product planning and launch; using data analysis tools such as SQL Server-based OLAP Cube, and MS Excel; A/B testing; collaborating with cross-functional teams on product initiatives; and working with diverse stakeholders. Must be willing to travel domestically, 3-4x/year, for 1-2 days/trip.
