Nielsen Global Audience Outcomes & Planning is a pillar of the Nielsen strategy. A broad suite of products within this portfolio connect our clients media activity to outcomes in many varieties such as brand engagement, interest, and purchases. Additionally, our Planning suite gives our clients an ability to plan, activate, and optimize their media strategies across all channels, people, and devices.
 
We are presently looking for a Director of Engineering to build and lead engineering teams under the Outcomes & Planning portfolio.  These teams will be focused in the areas of DevOps, Cloud as well as Data and Software Engineering.
 
Responsibilities
You will take a leadership role from both a people and technology perspective, partnering with experienced technology leaders within Audience Outcomes & Planning to:

  • Build and lead the technology team responsible for developing products
  • Refine and execute a roadmap to grow the product, scale it, and bring new features to market
  • Interface with platform teams within Nielsen to leverage existing technology

This role is an opportunity to showcase your creativity, innovation, and leadership skills as we build a new team and a new product in a high growth area of our business!
 

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Leadership experience in software development
  • Experience managing a multi-level organization (20+ people)
  • A background which began software engineering, preferably within an open source envrionment.
  • Experience with modern Agile SDLC techniques and modern architectural patterns (microservices, multi-tier architectures, etc.)

Broad technical experience or familiarity across multiple areas, including:

  • Application and service tier
  • Backend/data layer
  • Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Python)
  • Data integration from multiple sources
  • CI/CD and DevOps
  • Container and container orchestration
  • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent work experience
