Success factors for go to market and
consumer strategy across South East Asia

Nielsen Company Japan is pleased to announce to hold a seminar “Go Global Seminar Series: How to Win in South East Asia” on May 28th (Tuesday) at Roppongi Academy Hills. As the first session of this Go Global Seminar series, we will cover the South East Asia, which has been very popular markets to enter for Japanese companies recently.

We will be inviting Nielsn experts from the region to discuss the overview and the recent trends about business/services in the region, with over 11 million data points of over 95,000 brands across over 300 categories in 11 countries (45% Global Population). Also, we will share some successful examples from Vietnam and Thailand, increasingly important markets for Japanese companies along with new developments of sales channels such as EC, and Myanmar, which has been attracting many Japanese companies in the recent years.

Vaughan Anthony Ryan
Managing Director, South East Asia

Vaughan is currently the Managing Director for South East Asia. He has a passion for making businesses better by understanding what their customers want and desire. Not only today but also into the future. He is a person who is passionate about understanding both current and future market trends and how this impacts consumer behavior. Having been able to do this in multiple markets in Australia, Europe, US, Canada, South East Asia and others, he is a highly respected industry expert who has helped many companies and presented at many major industry events. Driving some of the world’s leading FMCG companies in terms of their strategic decisions for both today, but more importantly, for future growth.

Peter Gale
Managing Director, Retailer Service for South East Asia

Peter holds a degree in law from the University of Southampton. Before he joined Nielsen in 1986, he had been in charge of marketing for Safeway since 1981. For 25 years since he transferred to the Asia Pacific region in 1994, he has been leading the Retail Service division in Asia including Japan, Africa and the Middle East. Peter has a proven track record of consulting American and European retail companies entering Asian markets and is a regular speaker at industry conferences.

Head of Client Global Expansion, Nielsen Global Markets Group

Eva Ng is currently Head of Client Global Expansion for Nielsen Global Markets Group, where she focuses on helping local giants in developing markets to expand globally. She works across different markets to provide market entry assessment, launch strategy and local activation tactics that drive clients’ overseas expansion success.Eva is a seasoned executive with domain expertise in the FMCG and Retail industries. Over past 20 years in Nielsen, Eva has managed relationships with global and local giants in the FMCG industries across Asia Pacific and Greater China, providing marketing & sales consultancy & information analytics to our clients.

Busaba Chakreyavanich

Be as local insight provider for Thailand FMCG market for both manufacturer and retailer point of view, specialty in Retail Index Measurements Data analysis, Consumer Panel Analysis and Thailand Macroeconomic environment. Experienced for being as strategic consultants for various Japanese manufacturers in Thailand and key local manufacturers as well for over 5 years. Nowadays working closely with various Japanese companies in Japan with providing insight from multi countries for strategic management.
